Such a beautiful family and what an amazing purpose and plan God has for your young man, who really belongs to Him as you have said many times. Parenting is such a journey in faith. We all have had different challenges with our children, yet our heartbreaks unify us somehow. So awesome how God truly does work all things together for good and for His glory. Precious!! However the puzzle lines have gaps where the four primary colors come through almost like watercolor crayons outside of the lines. I have a treble clef inside the puzzle. I wanted to express my impression of how I have been amazingly blessed by people on this spectrum.

Every child is different and every parent is different. Your families story shows tremendous victory where love prevailed. But I am newly horrified to hear the details again.
I'm so sorry your mother & you had to endure such wretched treatment. How tragic that she wasn't able to rescue herself & her children from such evil, diabolical men.
I, myself, just gave my testimony of my childhood, this past Resurrection Sunday, in a church drama at WAG.
When I first wrote it, it made me cry to remember, but because of God's healing, I didn't cry when I rehearsed it or spoke (& signed some of it) on Sunday.
My growing up had some love, mostly from my depressed mother, a lot of neglect, & occasionally physical & verbal abuse from my brother or father.
Because of the abuse & because he rarely showed any love to my brothers or me, I eventually hated my father by age 12, though I was a believing Christian.
But thankfully, my parents let us children attend a Baptist Sunday School for many years. There I heard the good news of Jesus dying for my sins & I believed. I felt the Presence of the Holy Spirit & the Lord became the father I didn't have. I could always talk to Him when I had no one else. He gave me the strength to survive growing up in a very chaotic family.
At age 18, I heard a sermon about the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18 & I was convicted of my sin of hating my father. A spiritual battle began, lasting three weeks. Through a lot of tears, I finally realized I couldn't follow my feelings of not wanting to forgive. I had to obey God & choose with my will, to give up the judgment of my father over to my Heavenly Father. He would handle it perfectly (Romans 12:17-21).
I couldn't do this on my own; the Lord gave me the power to let go of my anger & hate. Once I did, within a short time, my negative feelings transformed into neutral feelings about my father and I had peace in my soul.
After I married, God showed me I also needed to forgive the abusive brother & especially my mother. Again, once I did this, I had peace.
When my parents grew elderly & became incapacitated, I was able to treat them with love & made every effort to ensure they had the best care possible. They passed away in tranquility.
Your words, Lisa, about Jesus are so true & also real in my life. This is one of the ways God brings good from our pain, by sharing how He brought us through such misery by His love & power. Thank you for opening up your heart, to bring others to Him. You are so beautiful.
The Lord is the answer to life's questions -'"Why are we here? & "Where we are going?"'
He is the answer.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18391489914686731493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4729192946363432246.post-53986901054310807882015-04-08T21:09:11.093-04:002015-04-08T21:09:11.093-04:00Lisa,

The place you are now will not look like the place you have left..I know this because our God can not be limited to that..hes a creative God, a progressive God! He must show you how He will work in a new place..you will be looking for the familiar..but it wont be seen by eyes of natural, it will be seen in the eyes of the spirit. Little by little..things will be revealed in the natural, but it will be just confirmation of what Hes shown you in the spirit. It will be more than you could imagine..and it will keep you in awe..but it will also keep you on your knees...Our God can not be contained and he searches for ppl who He can show Himself Great to..ppl who have hearts of pure surrender, willing to be brave to the calling and the purpose He has designed!
